and then i got up and danced around the kitchen

why? why the hell not?

i mean, really. the backdoor is open and the sun is streaming in, i've been productive and the dryer is going, and the ocean breeze bringing the fresh downy enhancer smell into the house. the beer is cold and the internet is fascinating.

and apparently, so is the PSone, my son is having such the good time winning the hell out of crash team racing. he's *really* good. he plays at intermediate to advanced levels, and he goes fast. he understands the fine points and wins trophies right and left. and when he needs a break from playstation, he has great videos - he's getting into the scooby-do stuff now. and this is all electronic and aren't we supposed to be 'outside' doing, well, outside things?

sure, sure. outside. we like our electronics in this house. our technology is quite entertaining. we're geeks. we're pale. we're having a great saturday afternoon.

I'll watch an old movie on TV rather than go outside...

people seem to sometimes frown on not going outside. but you know, inside can be plenty fun!

i just caught my son playing playstation naked. i put some clothes on him, but you know, it's not like it was a bad thing.

at least we'll never have to worry about skin cancer.

or wrinkles. and we kinda glow in the dark, i call it a vampire tan.

proud of my pale geeky freckledness.

Even better, Fox is giving me a lot of Dodgers games on tv this year; takes me back 40 years to hear Vin Scully broadcast games!

and when the greats of sportscasting are mentioned, i must wonder what the hell we are going to do when chick hearn kicks the bucket?

i can't imagine. but that's ok, the sun in the backyard, is going down, it's gorgeous and right out there, i can see it from in here, and i choose to be in here. it's good. it's very good in here.

and speaking of seeing the backyard from here: i have pictures. this weekend rocks. life's good.

pics tomorrow. fun? it's being had here this evening.

Summer here in Austin is like winter in Chicago...you only go outside when it's absolutely necessary. And there are specific times of the day when you just don't even think about stepping foot outside at all.

we had exceptionally nice weather, which, in ventura, we often do. think 75 and sunny, most of the time.

some people like that sort of thing. i don't dislike it. but it was very nice inside too. for the pale geeks, we like our inside weather.

I spent my day mostly outdoors and it was HOT!! 83 degrees is HOT for Alaska, okay? had to come inside for some coolness - and, no, no AC. Sigh - my pastiness has a red overtone today.
>..

Well, I ventured out. Went to the beach. Twas fun, peoplesurfing, drinking rum & pepsi and eating some great fried fish... Whew! Pretty hot. Pretty big fish too. And then the scenery! It was all that. I hope to go again next week. I thik I'll go to some other beach for a change though.

Methinks kd made it to the beach. First time in memory she hasn't put up a mid-day post. :)

Ummm. What's this 'outside' thing? Is that like getting out of bed, but more so? More importantly, is there somewhere to plug the modem in?

Going outside is definitely overrated. I see friends my age with leathery, wrinkled skin, and scars where skin cancers have been removed, and I don't envy them at all.

I enjoy the occasional open window, and an inside view of a beautiful sunrise or sunset, but most of the time, I enjoy the air conditioner, modem, and TV much more.

Weather has been rainy here in Montral, I am enjoying my time indoors :D Got to watch some movies without falling asleep :O
Ok! I'm off to dance aound the kitchen....LOL

(er... no offense, but) Jesus! you people need help! You get to live in sunny SoCal where it's perfect all the time even on a shmoggy day and you don't go outside in wonderment of it all? I'd live in a thatched hut on the damn beach, if it were me.

Besides, I figure that's what laptops and wireless access is for :)

i'm sure if i had a wireless laptop i'd get 'outside' more often. i keep trying to convince my work i need one for ... you know, work-related stuff. they aren't falling for it.

i did! i went Outside! to the Beach! there was sunshine and stuff. it was weird.

good girl. dancing in the kitchen won't save all of the world's problems, but it certainly makes it easier to ignore them for a while. :)
