literally. i am trying to adjust to this new 'improved' computer setup. i am sitting on the couch with my feet on the coffeetable, on either side of the monitor, keyboard on my knees, mouse on the couch by my side. i can almost see what i'm typing.
i miss my kitchen setup very badly. my uncomfortable 70's dinette chair sitting at that tiny round 70's dinette that is now being used for actual, you know, kitchen stuff. .argh. see that grungy spot on the wall? that's where i used to prop up my grubby feet. *sigh* i miss annoyingly propping my feet up on the wall.
sure, chris said if i really really hated it we could move it again. but i'd rather whine and complain. at least for now.
everybody's gotta have a hobby you know.

whining is a GOOD hobby. yes, it is. i would like to whine now...
I'M PHUCKING GOING TO PHUCKING WORK NOW. PHOOOEY.
tankubeddymuch.
BTW, you are a wonderful visitor, kd, and i look forward to you.
:)
visiting you is always a pleasure, miss ratty.
I was once friends with the ergonomics coordinator where I worked, and could not get away with even thinking of postures like the one you find yourself in now (then). You should have such a friend to come spank you.
i gave up on that and resorted to the old windows machine on the dining room table. it's ok for brief periods of time in which i don't mind the tiny monitor, slow computer, and straight-backed chair that will literally make the back of one leg and the corresponding hand on that side tingly-numb, if i sit on it long enough (you know, the amount of time i spend on the internet).
as soon as i get the car registered and stuff, i'm totally getting actual computer furniture.
For the longest time, I had my monitor sitting on a coffee table, my keyboard in my lap and my mouse on a box next to me.
I've graduated now. My monitor is on the desk where it belongs, my keyboard is still in my lap (can't find the supports for my keyboard tray), and my mouse is on a box! lol
i am totally appreciating my lasermouse that works on pretty much any surface at all. and totally looking forward to hitting the garage sales after i get to the point when doing so would be impractical as hell.
though desperation, and a really sore neck and burning eyes, drives me to go there anyway. that could happen.
maybe a laptop would solve the problem.
Love the dinette set and the wallpaper!
The microwave takes up alot of room, eh?
You realize those kitchen chairs you have are quite "in" now, right? You can't buy em new or find em used anywhere. I also feel your wallpaper in there would be chic too - but I can't quite make out the pattern.
And I am RUINED by the fact that I'm using the office laptop (faculty each get one) in the living room so I can watch tv and surf. Being too comfy in your computer area is not always a good thing...
Those chairs look groovy...and comfy!
my kitchen is very unintentionally retro. the dinette was just something left in the garage by previous tenants, and the place itself is of the early post WWII era -- when (apparenty) you didn't need more than two electrical outlets in any one room, and none of them are grounded.
yeah, we're retro.
and i am *dying* for a laptop. just aching for one. physically aching.
You know, one would think that being in an uncomfortable position would lessen computer usage. Hmmmm. Never worked for me. I had a very uncomfortable computer chair that made my ass hurt like hell. I'd just change positions and sit on pillows. Heh.
i do love the lasermouse, hummmmmmmm...
I LOVE your 70's chairs. Yuh, baby. You're couch set up looks like it might be uncomfortable? Is it?
extremely. i need real computer furniture and a comfy chair very badly. very, very badly.
my butt is numb. time to shift...
yeah, the asscoma is a problem.
