time to remember

memories, from different perspectives:

a few days ago, miss b wrote of her memories of nine-eleven in new york. a stunning post from up close and personal.

and today i found this, on one of VASpider's exceptional web of new blogs over on dot net. the blog's called 'fox' and titled 'a wolf that sends flowers'. and there i found a whole different perspective:

" I will tell you what it was like to be someone seriously contemplating Islam as a faith and employed by the government on that particular day."

She's an exceptional writer. That's part of the reason I was so keen for her to blog. Part of it was just because I love communicating with her in any way, shape or form.

Wow. Thanks, people. I'm kinda overwhelmed by the reaction. It's really flattering.

:)

actually, we should be thanking you. i know i am.

If I keep recruiting people, I'm gonna have to pay for another subdomain to house 'em all.

That's okay. I'm glad to be bringing in such excellent writers. I also recommend Tiny's site -- he does a Friday Writing Exercise that's produced some really nice works so far, and it's brand new. I keep trying to pimp it out as much as I can so that we can get more people participating. That is the kind of meme I can fully endorse. :)

read them both. very touching, very sad, very wonderful.

(psst. off topic, sorry! just popped by to say hello! and I've been meaning to link VA for some time, I keep forgetting! photos for you later, kd, because it's your fault (and jon's I suppose) that I have this camera!)

Thanks for the link, kd -- and VASpider. That's darned good stuff. Hurts, but in an important way.

I haven't even read that post from "fox" yet, but you deserve a thank you for posting the link. That will be an interesting perspective indeed. On my way there.

What a powerful piece.

Though not in the same league, both in scale and shock value, I recall feeling so "guilty by association" each time a Jewish radical group does something immoral.

Phew. And VASpider's account is interesting too, all the more so because I used to vacation at the same location when I was in high school.

fox's post blew me away. totally. VASpider has brought some great writing into this little neighborhood here.

I know. She kicks serious ass. I'm so glad she started blogging. I've been really happy with the group of people who are under vaspider.surreally.net as a whole.

i've re-read it a good three times already. the perspective itself is unique, but over and above that, the writing is breathtaking.
