back from the dead (i hope)

the thing about 99.95% uptime, is that there is .05% downtime. that works out to about four and a half hours a year.

well at least that's out of the way, eh? or, well, partially -- i think only about half that time, it was all the way down. flickers. just flickers. either that or that was my own eyesight flickering as my life flashed before my eyes.

so i spent the time shopping for different hosting. better deals. didn't find any. finally just went to lunch, figuring a watched website never boils or something. sure enough, returned with my spicy chicken bowl from taco bell, and all is once again well.

but that was a rough coupla hours there. *shiver* such a terrifying sense of disconnectedness.

Whew! I missed you. You wouldn't believe what happened while you were gone....

I hate it when that happens. Maybe I should get multiple hosts around the world, so if one goes down there are still 9 more available. Okay, maybe I'm being crazy. I still hate it when the server punks out.

honestly, i often fantasize about co-locating servers around the world so there would be zero downtime. that would just rock.

Zero downtime would be virtually impossible.
But I know the feeling all too well with EricBrooks.Com
Scary feeling ain't it? Like a large hunk of you simply ceases to exist. :0)

and the email went with it. and i'm still not getting email in the kdblog.com addy. just the surreally.com addy. so i'm only half a web presence. at least i can keep in touch thru comments.

it's enough to drive a webjunkie crrraaaaaaaaaazy.

There you are!
I was worried! I couldn't read the site and started to worry that it had just vanished, didn't exist - or maybe California didn't exist... or maybe I didn't - I dunno, it was very disorienting!

Two Questions, kd:
1. How was the salad at Taco Bell? Is it too salty?

2. Where is Eric (-e)'s site?

Thanks in Advance,
Your faithful reader,
Donna N.

probably the taco bell sodium levels are the same as most fast food (i'd check their nutrition info to be sure).

eric? i'm not completely sure but basically, you can just consider it my fault. sorry. i'm trying to make it better.

I thought my hassle with getting to anarchtica was just the owner being his usual obstreperous self ;)

well it's that too. but it's my fault this time. i suck. and not in a good way.

and hopefully this bit of evasiveness is all we'll have of this out in public. i feel bad enough already.

So there I was chatting with VASpider about possibly changing some stuff around on my blog and adding a thing or two, and I go to do it, and then Surreally drops off the face of the planet.

Cold stark raving terror gave way to frustration during the flickers.

No, damn you! Save and rebuild! Piece of... POOP!

I finally gave up and did some shopping, because I am, after all, an honorary female.

We have been treated very well by the company that backs us up. They have been known to often match other company's plans. E-mail me if you want more details - or just something less cryptic then this! LOL
