Yahoo! News - Shoes Spare Gays from Nudity Charges

"The law is very straightforward if someone is absolutely and completely bereft of clothing...however things become a little more complicated if there is a scrap of apparel anywhere on the body and the Crown has to show that the person is indecently clad which gets into what the current Canadian legal test is for indecency," he said.

"Because everyone wore at least footwear the Crown had to prove indecency and it couldn't."

...

"Besides the fun of marching in the parade, the marchers did have some serious intent as well, addressing issues of body shame and also what is regarded in the gay community as 'body fascism'," Simm said, adding that the men arrested ranged in age and size -- the youngest was 25 and the oldest was 61.

Nothing wrong with letting a breeze blow through the twig and berries!

Yeah, Canadian laws can be very funny. For years, total nudity wasn't allowed in strip joints. So, dancers wore only shoes. Then they changed the laws, requiring that G-strings had to be worn. So, dancers wore them - wrapped around their wrists.

silly laws, silly solutions.

and yes, TNT!MEN is a very, very cool acronym.

If the naked guys wore black shoes and little striped ankle socks-that would be obscene to me...

well, it would be weird, for sure.

i personally have no idea how to define obscene. nudity shouldn't be, really, within reason. i'm not sure i'd want naked people running around all over the place, but certainly in a pride parade, a group of pro-nudity guys being nude, seems completely fine to me.

bet it feels nice and breezy, too.

Nudity rules! Hey, we don't call it Meatspace for no reason. ;)

TNT!MEN - very cool abbreviation!
