I went a while ago. It just took me a bit to make it back. My routine is all screwed up tonight ... Anyway, that is eerie, and things like that tend to spook me for some reason.
whoa. that works for me, too.
Okay. That is edging on being frighteningly freaky. Where do you get all these interesting links, kd?
chris said he saw it on the news. sounded too weird to be true so i looked it up and sure enough.
wonder how many people played those numbers.
Want another one that's eerie? From a story in the NYT about Wall Street people and how they observed the day yesterday:
"the final 30 seconds of trading on Tuesday left a key market barometer, a widely traded futures contract linked to the Standard & Poor's 500 index, priced at exactly 911.00 the figure that remained on traders' computer screens around the world throughout yesterday's memorial service."
That made the papers over here, as did the index mentioned above
Stacey, if you read that story about the futures index, there was a little suspicion expressed by some folks there about the same thing. ;)
it would be a humungous scandal of epic proportions if there was tampering. it's just one of those things.
now the stock exchange number, maybe people actually stopped or held off when they saw that number at close of business. but the lotto? if it was that easily tampered, that would be bad.
Tamper with the lotto?
Not here!
Not in America!
Not where they tamper with votes.
Not where billions of dollars are made for the California school system through the playing of the lottery.
And yet the schools are falling apart, and they can't pay the teachers well.
I'm hoping that some Iranian guy won the lotto in New York.
Some shlub cab driver named Habib, that picked the number as a lark.
He can send his winnings to Mom and Dad back home, to buy plutonium.
i don't know how to work those numbers over there but i notice the number "911" on the 11 Sep and it scares the daylight out of me!!!! if that makes you "whoa", then i'm going "whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....!"
sure it's not a joke? why so apt????
You know you're temping at a multinational corporation when...
"the link you have requested has been refused by your administrator. no gambling! you work! now!"
alright now this is getting downright spooky.
I don't know about you, but when I see coincidences like these I tend to think think there is a human hand guiding them. Maybe somebody with a strange sense of humor.
I can't see blind chance resulting in this kind of stuff, and I can't see any higher power wasting his/her time doing this.
I heard about that on the news, too. Pretty damned freaky.
