him: isn't that an oxymoron? super-massive?
me: no, black holes have a lot of mass. they have so much mass they collapse and start sucking more mass in. they just don't have a lot of volume.
him: oh, right. ok.

did you tell the kid "yes, you do smell like poop".....I've found that always helps.
makes a kid just giddy when you say that to him. in this case, it was just kind of an astrophysical conversation-stopper. cute though.
