since i don't technically have to go to work today, i've decided not to go. which has something to do with being awake till, um, four-something? sigh. i tried to go to sleep. i was just awake.
anyway, it's a floating birthday holiday paid day off type of thing, and even though there are four whole shopping days till xmas, i decided to take the day and do the shopping today. pretty simple: game boy advance, some games, and some cool kid shoes.
ok it's not that simple. i know he likes kirby, and spryro, and sonic the hedgehog. who doesn't like hedgehogs? the choosing of games is not the easiest thing here. i suppose it will depend on what i can find at the local used game shop, since more games is a good thing.
the hardest part? not taking the thing out of the box and testing it out for the kid, you know, to make sure it works and all. sigh.

Good for you! Showing such restraint ;-)
Shrink wrap--what does a small child know from shrinkwrap?
you have a point there.
If the small child in question has ever opened a shrinkwrapped gift, or gotten a toy from any toy store, he more than likely understands that the plastic stuff = no body but me opened it. As to whether that's the case here, I have no idea. Play it safe...get an exacto knife and a glue gun.
you people are very bad influences. it's hidden up in the closet, and it's going to stay there till i wrap it up. i swear.
Hey, kd!!
Is that you on the left column of your blog with the new haircut???
I hadn't noticed this before today.
Nice Cut! And Cute Picture!!
better wrap quickly!
you've just GOT to test the game boy out, carefully wrap it back up, he'll never know! They have those cool lights for them, gotta get one of those too so you can play in the dark. :)
we bought them for the girls this year and i'm dying to try it! we've never had one and have a feeling we may use it more than them.
There's a D&D game out for the GBA that I bought and enjoyed, and Tara just got the newest Zelda games and seems to like them. Does he have that light you snap on the thing?
Uh-huh. Just like my Dad tested my new bicycles on Christmas Eve the two or three times I got one. Hmph! ;)
I would agree that you should test them before you give them as presents. besides, it'll give you something to do if you're awake til four-something again....
Test it out Test it out!!! just be sure to put it back very carefully. LOL
although i am sorely tempted, i think it would be bettter with the shrinkwrap still on. it's a nice red one though, his favorite color.
and sonic the hedgehog. oh man. i love sonic sooooo much.
sigh.
