it's my daughter's twentieth birthday. of course i haven't heard from her since she split for france nine days ago, not a phone call, not even an email. *tsk* these kids today.
i guess if i priority mail some of my son's kindergarten pictures to my parents, that could be like a christmas present? if i haven't done this by now, it's not like it would get there, though will it? sigh. better late than never i suppse.
beginning to stress about arrival of dump truck and camera, even though late presents won't be a big deal, really. there's plenty.
you know those cute Chevron cars? found two really cool ones (the discontinued four wheeler model with the bicycles and a really cool one with shiny blue paint and a popup smiley engine) at the Chevron station. i'm not sure who likes them better, me or my son, but they're for him, ok?
kicking myself for not thinking of shrinkydinks. there's still time, but not that much time, and aside from that, i should at least get to toys r us to see if they have kirby for gameboy advance. but the thought of toys r us this near christmas scares me horribly.
my son appears to have ants in his pants. also he keeps telling me he likes wedgies. these things are unrelated, unless they aren't. also, he got up and cleaned his room this morning before i woke up (at nine). he's such a good boy.
i'm very scattered.

wrapping sucks
especially those oddly shaped things. that really sucks.
Wow, I am SHOCKED to find out that they still make shrinkydinks! Those things were awesome, but I hadn't heard about them in years. Although ow, @ blinking website.
oh, and they had a great pattern for making little bird ornaments! i'm wanting them very much.
Mine is such a teenager. All he wanted this year was clothes. !?! Where's the fun in that, I ask? I wanna buy shrinkydinks.
no reason not to buy them for yourself.
hmmmmmmm just think about it. Little boy being especially good. Could it possibly be THAT time of year again!!! My little cousin is actually being wonderful instead of a pest today! LOL
yup. he's definitely on that last-minute rush to be really good for santa.
let me clarify for the record:
bobby did not wrap one single present. i spent over 2 hours this afternoon wrapping for the girls from santa. now, if he said 'writing out name tags suck' then he'd be talking from experience. ugh! also, i got the girls the shrinkydinks at target and sure you could still find them there or at walmart. i also bought them the little oven so they could 'shrink' themselves. well, the dinks, not them- although, there's an interesting thought.
oh, and happy birthday, kd--i have one of those myself tomorrow. our little one turns 5. :)
Nikki, maybe that was just bobby empathizing with you? (ever the peacemaker, that's me)...grins.
oooh have you seen the avery shrinky dink paper you can get at staples? I am going to pick some up tomorrow to play with it. :)
ok, that's it, we're getting shrinky dinks.
I don't know about your Toys R Us, but last year we hit one up within a few days of Christmas, except we went around 10 p.m. (ours is open til midnight this close) instead of during the day, and it was like a morgue, totally painless and highly recommended.
happy b-day kd's daughter!
A very happy birthday to your daughter KD!
hope she has a wonderful day!
they still make shrinkydinks? I used to play with that when i was a kid, nearly 20 years ago! wow.! They still make shrinkydinks. I am so going to have to get me some.
a side note twitterpated is aword, though I don't know if it is a colloquaism [sp?] or an actual word. Has something to do with spring, love and running about in a happy daze not knowing where one is going or coming.
twitterpated - To be enamored; spring fever.
e.g., "Nearly everybody gets twitterpated in the springtime. You get weak in the knees. Your head starts to whirl. Before you know it, you're knocked for a loop!" -Bambi
:)
I LOVE shrinky dinks!
Don't be fooled by the damn set - I think you can just get a refill kit and bake em in the oven - just like when I was little, ah, memories. Am going to have to hunt around the craft stores to see if they have any blank ones I can find to play with! You know, I heard of a way you can transfer xeroxes of photos to shrinky dinks - does that not sound cool??? I MUST go experiment now!!!
Wheeee!
And I love that he got up early to clean his room. You have such a cool kid! Because even last minute good is really a sweet thing. Awww.
Walmart here in FL has Kirby for Gameboy Advance. If you get up early (or stay up late as the case may be) the store isn't so bad. Good luck!
Why does Kurtwood like wedgies? Does he like swirlys? Does he like titty-twisters? Does he like, oh I better stop giving you ideas now.
i believe it is related to the promos for the upcoming Wild Thornberrys movie, which features 'the wedgie dance' -- the character who does this dance is a small semi-feral child that the Thornberrys picked up during their travels, voiced by Flea.
i blame nickelodeon in general.
