in fact, it's very monday. they seem to want me to go start working at the car wash, like, now. um. now? today? monday? no, not monday. not today. i have a million things to do. for instance, that little poll over there? well, i was so disorganized i couldn't find my way into my own server to set up a fresh database, so i just stuck the tables in an old database i don't use over on dot net. because, as you can imagine, the poll thingy was oh, so urgent this morning. paramount importance. because, ok?
so, now there is a poll. yay! mission accomplished! day already a success, i can go back to bed right? it's just, you see, i lived my weekend like a person who had no job to go to, and i'm not going to let having a job to go to get in the way of the natural progression of all this. that would be wrong.
i'll go talk to the boss guy in the morning and try to convince him i need some days, i really need some days. aside from three weeks unpaid leave two years ago to help when my dad had his surgery, i have not had a vacation of any sort since the day i started my last job. three and almost a half years ago. what paltry vacation hours they doled out, i would end up using up when i got sick (no sick leave) so i haven't had more than a four day weekend since i was in my thirties.
and they wanted me to go in today? no, not today.
that reminds me of the poll questions that were on the original surreally site. i can't recall them all, but i do remember answering that i was wearing underwear on my head.
you deserve more than a mini vacation. wear something saucy and talk to the boss guy into a few weeks. like spring break. in, um, winter.

and if anybody's wondering, there were about 9 votes when i switched to the local database, so those are all gone now. sigh.

BTW, that is the best poll I've ever seen. And I hate polls. Really. I'm taking it.
Take a few weeks off. Or however long you can get by with. The only beauty of being in between jobs is the "vacation". Especially when you can relax knowing you have a new one lined up.
Don't go back to work yet. Please stay and entertain us do what you need to get done.
i only want a few days, just a few. and i should be being businesslike too, but i'm not really feeling very ready.

What kind of slavish employment situation do find yourself in? (Sorry to sound so harsh.) No sick leave, unpaid vacation..... It now makes me have a far greater respect for my job. I won't bother to give you my leave entitlement, it just doesn't seem fair to share it here! Get some rest girl.
Three years and no vacation? That's just wrong! Honey take some time - have a mini vacation and relax!
