"There is a last correlation that is slightly less clear than the others. The spirits one sees in hallucinations are three-dimensional, sound-emitting images, and they speak a language made of three-dimensional, sound-emitting images. In other words, they are made of their own language, like DNA."

There was a long silence on the other end of the line.

Then my friend said, "Yes, and like DNA they replicate themselves to relay their information." I jotted this down, and it was later in reviewing my notes on the relationship between the hallucinatory spirits made of language and DNA that I remembered the first verse of the first chapter of the Gospel according to John: "In the beginning was the logos"the word, the verb, the language.

if you read this place anywhere near regularly, you have an idea how much resonance there is in this, in me. of course, you'd find the connections in the really deeply spacey meditations on communication and language and spacetime, and i'm never sure how much of that actually makes any sense outside my head.

i have always been made of my own language. which makes me uniquely well-qualified to conduct further research on this matter, yes?

"language is a virus from outer space"--william s. burroughs

exactly! whoa, he was on to it too. cool.

Wonderful link, liz! Thank you!!!

Liz, I took the time to look over, nay, devour and digest the article. It blows my mind and makes some real sense. Certainly as much as the whole 'water to wine' parlor trick. I contemplate if this explains 'the afterlife'. The DNA is your real life, you are just a collection of the DNA before you. Your ancestor's dna are in you, ARE you. You won't pass on life through your kids, but rather AS your kids, with the little bits of DNA given over to them at conception. More sleepless nights await from the wisdom of Liz!

i have the whole book -- and i'm reading it, as is my daughter (who is a natural healer, and wants to explore this as well) and when we've done enough research, we're going to check this out. not something you just jump into, of course, there are a couple other books to read first as well.

there are lots of great books on the subject at amazon.com. this isn't something you hear about in mainstream science (they tend to stop cold at the hallucinogen part and think it's bad / evil / crazy), but there have still been a lot of published scientific works on the subject, in spite of western culture's rather repressed outlook on the subject.

whoa, i was paying attention, then the walls started melting in triskelions and stuff. uh -- were you guys talking about terence mckenna or something?

cause if you were, i, uh, have read some books about that kind of stuff...too.

oh yeah, and did you know that there's a field known as ethnobotany, that's supposedly about all this academic stuff but is really about hiking through the jungle and interviewing lost tribes who communicate with the gods and the ancestors via hallucinogenic plants? ethnobotany. google it.

oh yeah i've thoroughly perused amazon.com, restocking the old wishlist, i've heard of that guy. and yeah, this is my kinda science.
