i’ve had any number of spongebob font search requests, and apparently, (this is how i figure it anyway) someone made the font then went googling for mentions of such a thing, and found where i said i would love to find it myself.
so the font found me. i love it when that happens.
the maker of this font, Aaron Doyle, has a geocities site, here, but i’ve uploaded the font file to these servers to save him the bandwidth. so here it is: spongefont squaretype (right click and save, it’s the actual .ttf file)
added note: Aaron tells me this is his first font, and anyone who likes tweaking with these things is encouraged to do so.
me, i’m entertaining thoughts of a spongebob skin for this site. and an invader zim skin.
I have to learn to skin. I have been putting it off because I’m such a horrendously messy coder to begin with (and half the time I’m just guessing at what I’m doing anyways)…but Aaron wants his site skinnable, and what I’m not willing to do for me, I’m willing to do for my child. He’s gonna flip over the SpongeBob font.
yes, one of the great benefits of site-skinning, is that it does get you to clean house.
once you do it for the Dude, you’ll so want to do it for yourself too. just another fun little addiction!!

Ok, I downloaded the font, but can’t see it from within Word. How do you get software to use this font once you have it. And what about this Zim font then? Do you have that too?
i don’t have a zim font as yet, i’m going to look for one as soon as i get done with the zim skin — right now, all i have to do is fix up the stylesheet, upload the graphics (which i have done), and that will be good to go.
the spongebob font worked quite well from photoshop — i dunno, does Word pick up all your system fonts? i just put it in the font folder of the old windows machine and there it was in my font list.
