much as i try to focus on the work at hand, i am drawn back again and again to read the ever-growing collection of personal stories over at michele‘s. picked up a recommendation there too, to read dichotomy. it’s the personal stories that get me. as i read them i sense just how urgently these stories needed to be told.
i’m very glad michele’s providing a forum for the telling.

And thank you for spending your time this morning getting my links and trackback working for me.
i hope you finally slept.
i did! five hours, give or take. i’m so glad we got that going for you, you definitely needed it today.
I finally followed your link to the dichotomy site and looked at the picture of my friend from flight 93 and all the neighbors (and the kids travelling with them) from 77. It’s a nice website.
Michele’s site was lovely. I didn’t think anyone wanted to hear my describe the plane hitting the Pentagon ever again so I just passed through the site a few times but didn’t leave a comment.
I meant because it’s not an interesting story, it has no televised component to make it make sense and give it context, just smoke and heat and bad smells. I didn’t mean that that people don’t care about the Pentagon. Just felt the need to clarify that so there aren’t any misunderstandings.
there were some similar stories from that area, so i’m sure it would have been ok to post. we all have a story from that day, even people far far away. one of those, you always remember things.
i’m going to go read your archives now.
Thanks KD. I didn’t think it would be out of place to post it, but only a couple of us actually saw the plane come in past our cars there on the access road so it’s a weird thing. If you saw the WTC hit on TV you have context for what people are describing, but trying to describe the Pentagon being hit…had I not been there breathing the smoke and watching the debris shower over my car *I* wouldn’t have context for i. I took Faith over there a few weeks ago and she was stunned by huge the building is. Even the pictures can’t convey the site. It just never makes sense to describe it to other people. I hope I didn’t imply that people don’t care.
I can’t find the entries about the Pentagon and 9-11 in my archives, KD. I had them on a seperate page and must have screwed it up when I migrated and stripped out comments and stuff. I’m very annoyed with myself. I posted an abbreviated version on Michele’s site, though, like you suggested. Thanks again.
