electronic panties?

Security firms are also interested in the textile chip technology. Shall we see the day when the Trustworthy Computing that Microsoft touts will electrocute you if you download a pirated copy of Windows 2007 into your electric underpants?

    Ok, uh… Ow?

I do know that they’re making microchips smaller and smaller and smaller, but every time I think of them, I think back to the intergrated circuits I worked with in college and how you could easily install one into your thumb with those sharp connectors… My undies would be the last place I’d want to see one of those.

apparently this fabric is much less, er, intrusive than the old-style stuff. i’m just not sure i’d want underwear with an operating system.

there might be some cool applications for that though.

Kinda like password protection, dontcha think? It wouldn’t electrocute you till the third time you tried to download the pirated version.

or maybe the panties would spontaneously stop working after so many activations — just jump off your body at an inopportune moment. that could be interesting.

Like while going up an escalator?

Ok, shame on me. I thought of it because we just had a case here that the prosecutor declined to take to court; guy was taking surreptitious photos at a public mall. The law is written for things like bathrooms, not escalators.

Make those panties vibrate and you’ve got yourself a customer over here (oh – and make them in big-booty size as well).
