incredibly fucking pissed off at myself still

you would not believe the thoughts running through my mind right now. well, you might believe them, but you wouldn’t like them. random thoughts like, people are incredibly fucking stupid. yeah, me too. because the people, that being an inclusive statement meaning the ones who did vote and the ones (like myself) who didn’t, are responsible for sending a message to the government that went a little something like this: hi, we’re stupid, we believe everything we’re told, and we want tax cuts and war. hello? stupid much? war is expensive. and no, it’s not ‘good for the economy’. the defense industry maybe. the economy is in the toilet and we just gave the order to flush. flush, and then go kill some people. lots of them. know why? it’s basic human nature. we’re killers, have you noticed?

we’re so fucked. and you know what? we deserve it. collectively. because we’re stupid. stupid humans. look at us. have you looked at us lately? what we have done to our planet, what we regularly do to ourselves, and oh my god what we do unto others different from ourselves.

i really should have voted. we’d still be as fucked, but i wouldn’t feel so godawful guilty about how fucked we are.

stupid. i’m stupid.

    Ignore this?
    When I agree with it?

And yes, you should have voted, even if the results are the same, it does keep the guilt train at bay. Speaking from experiance, here.

    Woah!

You know kd, you could feel worse. You could be Winona Ryder. She just got spanked for being a bad bad girl.

  4. kd

yeah, i bet she’s kind of mad at herself too. or, um, mad at whoever’s fault it was. her director or something?

I think we’ll be okay. It might just take some time.

I hear you. Same sentiment here. And honestly, it doesn’t feel much better having voted. Just don’t feel too alone–seems there are a lot of us feeling bilious and disappointed today in blogland.

You know, if you’d voted for Davis, I might not have gotten quite the surprise I did when I saw him behind with 31% of precincts counted.

  8. kd

well, he did win the county i live in. it’s like — they voted for him because he’s rich, and rich is good, or something.

i don’t fit in well here.

    Dear KD,
It’s all water under the bridge… we all have those days, and we move on to the next day… week… month… next year, things will need to be voted on again.

Don’t beat yourself up. Tomorrow gives us another chance to get it right.

    Thanks for being you.

I don’t deserve it. I wrote in George Clinton to become Ruler of Parliament AND Funkadelic.

I also tried to write in my own proposition to paint the white house black.

I’m still waiting to hear back on that one.

  11. Linkmeister

Ha! Jason, don’t hold your breath, ok? Although, come to think, Bush might want a black house with hitching rails in front.

You shouldn’t have apologized for this entry, kd. Sometimes you just have to let things out, and if that isn’t part of my whole search for blogosophy, I don’t really know what is. And if blogosophy wasn’t a word before, it still isn’t now, but it sounded nice in my head.

Even if I do babble, you know I’m with you all the way.

  13. Mad Bull

I agree, you should have voted. Don’t beat yourself up too much for it though. Voter apathy is a well documented feature of many societies. You’re not alone. So get over it, and next time, just go out and vote!

kd, go see ” Bowling for Columbine”.
This “Moore” Guy is a genius. The movie talks about a bunch of things among them:
Did you know that in Michigan you can open a bank account and receive a free rifle? Yep, its true.
Americans committed more homicides last year than any other country-approximately 12,000. Japan was approximately 68.
    What are we doing wrong?
And we’ve got a real war lover at the healm of this country.
I voted, but I wasn’t with the majority. And I will still vote.
I left mayor of our town blank, since he ran unopposed, and he doesn’t have my best interests at heart.
I agree with Mad Bull, “don’t beat yourself up about it”. You are probably more aware of the governmental issues than most anyway. Just keep blogging and writing about it. How else would I be able to read about California?

Things will be all right, I have to keep telling myself that. I think it was more depressing to have voted and seen that it didn’t really help. At least it helped OKLAHOMA this year, but the US? Shit. I’m scared a bit…but back to things being all right…Maybe being alarmed about our country will create more activists? That’s what I’m hoping for.

Yep, don’t beat yourself up. Just get in and vote next time – we need to flush out the Bushie! :o ) And In the meantime, sign petitions, link to articles that educate people, attend some rallies…and keep on being your wonderful self, girl!
