boobie news

first of all, Sandee got her new boobs, and all is well, and this is good. when medical science can give back what cancer took away, that’s a beautiful and life-affirming thing, which is the idea behind this calendar, featuring tasteful nudes of breast cancer survivors, age 30 – 68, willing to bare their reconstructed breasts. certainly not all women choose to go through the additional surgery, but i think it’s wonderful to have the choice.

I really like the idea of the calendars. When I was in San Francisco for the Pride Parade, one of the groups that marched were breast cancer survivors. Mostly in their 40s and upwards, they marched topless. None of them had gotten implants or anything. They marched with one breast and a scar. It was incredibly powerful, and incredibly cool.

a speachless wow to thumpers story. Anything that promotes breast cancer awerness, helps women or anyone who has dealt/ dealing with cancer is a wonderful thing in my books.

there’s a commercial playing here in Canada to solicit for cancer research funds. one of the women in the commercial has a hand over her existing breast and bares her masectomy scar. it’s a stunning statement from a brave woman.
