On the eighth day of Christmas
My true love have to me
Eight maids a milking
Seven swans a swimming
Six Geese a laying
Five Gold Rings!
Four Calling Birds
Three French Hens
Two Turtle Doves
and a Partridge in a Pear Tree

I’m not sure you really want to hear me sing, but – here goes…
You are quite correct. I can remember the time (dimly) when the Christmas tree went up on Christmas Eve and was taken down in early January…
Ah, but the song can be sung anytime!
I’m in love with you.
I thought they were golden rings?
Why do I have a headache?
they probably are golden.
i’m in love with you too melly.
I don’t mean to be a spoilsport but I believe the twelve days of Christmas are the twelve days after the birth of Christ but before the Epiphany, January 6, when the three wise men found the manger and gave the gifts to the newborn (well, isn’t it like a man to be late?) saviour.
I’m not sure I follow, but can I be next?
It’s been a long day and I’m slow.
