   Hi Liz, I don’t know what e-mail of yours you check most so I’m posting this here.

   I need to get a Wi-Fi device. What are your thoughts on Netbooks vs. used laptops? I know a person can get netbooks for around $300, and don’t you have one? Just wondering which way to go to get a basic web browser around Xmas, and how much I need to save by then. Don’t need the highest power at all, just need enough…know you’ve probably researched all this as far as it can be researched.

   Thanks for your reply. I only need something small for basic wi-fi internet access away from home and work, I still have my big Dell PC for at home. I had a little Ibook but traded it for some bike stuff.

   So, you have a Netbook but you’re not happy with it? Are you looking to sell it within a couple of months? Laptops are cheap but I don’t need a drive or lots of muscle. I’m thinking ahead a year, am going to relocate to Arcata or Bolinas or Cambria. Want to take 6 months off and just wander, and will need something for then. I suppose a used laptop would be an option, but I really am looking for smallness and battery life.
